16A FRIDAY, APRIL 26, 2024 COURIER JOURNAL LOUISVILLE Diana Cecilia Grisham King passed away at the Episcopal Church Home on April 16, 2024. She was born in Santiago, Chile on Septem- ber 16, 1948 to Hernan Marinkovic and Diana Blanco Garcia. It was here she learned there were many foods that were unappealing. It was in 1968, she travelled outside of South America, to Florida and developed a love of travel. She moved to Australia, and ultimately ended up in Arkansas marrying Charles Grisham in 1973.
They divorced in 1994, but remained friends until he died in 2003. In 2005, she met Joseph King, the love of her life, and married in 2007. They enjoyed 11 years of love, travels and wine until his untimely death in 2018. One of her greatest accomplishments was graduating from college later in life, where she discovered her passion for working with the elderly. In 1991, she took a job that would change her life and forever impact those around her; she started working for the Episcopal Church Home.
In 2003, she helped open the Memory Care Center of Excellence at the Episcopal Church Home where she found her true calling was to help both people suffering with dementia, and their loved ones. Her career at the Episcopal Church Home spanned 25 years, as a social worker and later as the administrator. She became heavily involved with the Association, participating in their annual Walk to End and running a support group for spouses of people with dementia. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe King. She is sur- vived by her son, David Grisham (Christiana Koonce), step-daugh- ters DeeDee Polite (Glen Polite) and Ali Burch (Jason Rosenholtz-Witt) and grandson Leo Joseph Rosenholtz-Burch; siblings Maria Eugenia Marinkovic Blanco, Marco Antonio Marinkovic Plaza and Priscilla Valeska Marinkovic Abarca; her Arkansas family consisting of Gail Blucker, June Owen and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, April 26, 2024 at St Episcopal Church on 330 North Hubbards Lane, Louisville, KY. Visitation begins at 10 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11 AM, with a reception immediately afterward at the church. Bramer age 87, born on October 11, 1936, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024 with his family by his side.
He was a member of St. Aloysisus Catholic Church in Shepherdsville. Married 68 years to former Barbara Jean Herm, the love of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Georgia Bramer; son-in-law, J.D. Arnold; brother, Robert Bramer; brothers-in-law, Ed Connolly, Jim Painter and Richard Hanna.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; 4 children, David Bramer (Brenda), Terri Bramer Arnold, Charles Bramer (Karen) and Mark Bramer (Shea); 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Shirley Hanna, Lynda Connolly, Sue Painter, Rita Denhard (James) and Angie Yount (Bill) and sister-in-law, Sherry Bramer. Ernie was also blessed with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He also loved his black labs, Dutchess, Delila and Ginger. Ernie was a graduate of Southern High School and started his own printing business, Print Shop in Okolona at the age of 18 in which he ran and operated, with the help of his wife and family for 54 years until his retirement in 2008. Ernie loved the outdoors, camping, boating, his home on Nolin Lake and his motorhomes.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed his big game hunts to Wyoming, Montana and Canada as well as waterfowl hunting in Canada and Western Kentucky with his Ducks Unlimited buddies. He always loved square dancing with his wife. They belonged to the Red- Hot Rompers Square Dance Club for about 8 years and they served as the president of that club for 2 years. He was in the Kentucky Army National Guard for 10 years, a member of the Club and on the Picnic Committee at the former St. Jerome Church in Fairdale in the 1960s-1970s.
Ernie was a sponsor of Unlimited for 35 years, belonged to the National Wild Turkey Federation and the NRA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus third degree, Shively, KY. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Mass of the Air or to a favorite charity. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, April 29, 2024 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church (224 Abbott Shepherdsville, KY) with entombment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Laverne Albright Robertson was born in Brodhead, KY, and moved to Louisville to attend Spencerian Col- lege. She was married to Jim Tom for 44 years until his death.
Laverne was an active member of Walnut Street Baptist Church where she had served as head of the ushers and was a faithful member of her Sunday school class. She was also active in the Auxiliary at the Southern Baptist Seminary where she had served as presi- dent. Laverne was a huge fan of the University of Louisville where the family had season tickets to the football and basketball games for decades. In 2019, Laverne moved to her home in the Villages where she enjoyed reading and sitting outside in the sun on her spacious lanai. Her greatest joy was spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren, Ashley and Andrew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Robertson. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Beverly Robertson Clark, husband, Donald Clark and her grandchildren, Ashley Katherine Clark and Andrew Robertson Clark, all of Louisville. The Celebration of Laverne Life will be held on May 10, 2024 at at Walnut Street Baptist Church, 1143 S. 3rd Street, Louis- ville, KY 40203.
