We asked an Auditor the big question, 'Why did YOU choose to be an auditor?' Today we look into the reasons Kingsley Nwabugwu MSc, ISO Lead Auditor, made the jump, and hopefully it may inspire similar individuals to consider this amazing field of work!'As a kid, I always thought I'd become a Doctor, just as my father also wanted me to. But, funny enough, I couldn't stand the sight of flowing blood from an open injury.Furthermore, growing up in Nigeria, the education system left me to pick among the narrow options of Science, Commercial studies, and the Arts. And as life would have it, I was somewhere in the middle - too personable for the Sciences but too technical for the Arts. Fastforward to my time after University studying Engineering, I stumbled upon something that just clicked—Health & Safety. Here, I found a way to combine my love for technicality with my passion for helping people stay safe and sound. However, it wasn't until I dipped my toes into the world of auditing that things really fell into place. Thanks to a supportive Manager, I got a taste of ISO 9001 and never looked back. Auditing just ticked, allowing me to dive deep into compliance, policies, and all that good stuff. Then came a moment that changed everything. Going through an audit myself, I realised how stressful it could be. That's when I promised myself that if I ever sat on the other side of the table, I'd make it as painless as possible and with genuine care. I get to make them feel comfortable and be myself whilst also utilising my technical skills. Today, I see myself as a bit of a middleman between global standards, company procedures and company goals. It's not just about ticking boxes; it's about making sure everyone's on the same page and enjoying the process enroute achieving the goals. My journey has been a wild ride, full of surprises and self-discovery. 44,755 steps later.......The KERV Capital team took on the Yorkshire 3 Peak Challenge this past weekend to raise awareness for Missing People, and they absolutely crushed it! 🏔I'm incredibly proud of everyone who participated and gave it their all. It's an honor to be part of such an amazing team of great people who kept each other smiling throughout the tough challenge. Special shoutout to Ben Taylor for keeping spirits up with discussions about our favorite movies, food, and drinks, and Olivia Matthew for making us all laugh until we cried (and not because of how hard the challenge was)! 😅🤣 I am continually impressed by my team and their resilience.
