The College Baseball World Series continued Sunday from Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

Sunday's action saw the first team of the weekend eliminated as Florida State downed Virginia to give the Cavaliers their second loss of the tournament and end their season. Top-seeded Tennessee picked up another win, beating North Carolina to get one step closer to a championship.

After another day of the Greatest Show on Dirt, here's a look at how the two games unfolded.

Bracket 1

Florida State def. Virginia, 7-3

Tennessee def North Carolina, 6-1

Florida State 7, Virginia 3

The Seminoles faced a crushing loss on Friday as Tennessee walked it off but responded well with a big win to keep their championship hopes alive.

There was little action through the first three innings until Florida State struck first in the bottom of the third after Virginia gave up a walk with the bases loaded. The Seminoles tacked on to their lead in the bottom of the fourth inning when Jaime Ferrer drilled a solo shot to left field.

The Seminoles bolstered their lead in the bottom of the fifth, adding four runs to make it 6-0. Marcos Dinges got things started with an RBI single before Ferrer once again homered, this time a three-run shot and his third home run of the College World Series.

Virginia finally responded in the seventh inning after going scoreless through the first six innings. The Cavaliers got on the board with a pair of RBI singles before adding another run on an RBI double in the eighth inning.

Virginia didn't have enough to rally, though, and its season is now over.

It was an impressive day for starting pitcher Carson Dorsey, who gave the Noles seven innings and 106 pitches. He ended the day with seven strikeouts and two earned runs given up.

Florida State will now face the winner of Tennessee vs. North Carolina on Tuesday.

Tennessee 6, North Carolina 1

The Vols had far less drama against North Carolina than they did in their first game of the College World Series against Florida State.

The game started relatively slow, going scoreless through the first three innings. Tennessee opened up scoring in a big way in the fourth though, as Kavares Tears hit a three-run homer to give the Vols a 3-0 lead.

Tennessee added another home run in the fifth inning to make it a 4-0 lead, this time coming off the bat of Reese Chapman.

The Tar Heels' only run of the game came in the sixth inning on a solo homer from Vance Honeycutt, but Tennessee quickly got that run back on an RBI single from Dean Curley.

Tears continued what was a phenomenal day for him in the eighth, driving in a run with a double. He ended the night becoming the first player in Tennessee history with four RBI in a College World Series game.

On the mound, starting pitcher Drew Beam gave Tennessee a strong five-inning showing, allowing just four hits and a run and picking up seven strikeouts. Veteran reliever Kirby Connell came in for Beam in the sixth inning and gave up just one hit while picking up a pair of strikeouts. Nate Snead closed out the final two innings, allowing no hits against seven batters faced.

Tennessee will face the winner of North Carolina and Florida State on Wednesday.
