"I had shoulder surgery by him 6 years ago and I'm a active person. My shoulder kept dislocating so much 6 years ago and tired of always going to the hospital to get it put back in. Came to him and he acted like it was no big deal and told me i didn't need surgery to fix it and i was being dramatic. Needless to say i made sure i got the surgery done but now i still have issues with pain and motion. His manners are rude"

"I had hardware removal from my right forearm. Not only did he show up late he had absolutely no bed side manner. My surgery took over an hour longer than it was supposed to and no one every came to update or inform my significant other of what was going on. The follow up care was a joke they rushed me out so quickly, I wasn't given a sling or explained a single thing about my wound care. My pain was the worse thing ever. He prescribed the lowest dose that was supposed to be for a week but I was told to take 8 a day. It last my barley threw and I was in so much pain but after reading these reviews I knew it wasn't worth calling him and went to my local emergency room instead. I had over 30 staples removed today and now my wound is opening. They didn't clean it and he literally didn't even check my cut! Im on my way to the er AGAIN. DO NOT GO TO HIM!"

"Very disappointing. No bedside manner. Had hand surgery, never advised my family how things went. I had to call the office to find out. My hand hurts worse than before the surgery. He said I was only the 2nd patient that he needed to do a second surgery on. My thumb is disformed and painful. I would not recommend Dr. Coates."
